FAB Trails

The trails experiences in the Frontenac Arch Biosphere are like no other place in southern Ontario – there is so much variety and so many types of trails! Cycling, hiking, canoeing and kayaking, walking, heritage trails and driving routes lace the Biosphere region. There is no better way to discover our natural and cultural heritage.

While this section of the website leads you to each type of trail, and its location and features, also visit the FAB Experiences pages where many themed routes connect local food producers and outlets, artists and galleries, heritage places and special features across the landscape. There are nearly endless experiences waiting to be discovered.

The Frontenac Arch Biosphere (FAB) does not own or manage any of the trails you’ll find on this site. The hiking trails are in the capable hands of, or are cared for by organizations such as national and provincial parks and conservation authorities that have partnered with FAB and the Biosphere Trails Council to map and describe hem. As well, members of the community have come together to lay out canoe and kayak routes, cycling routes, heritage walking routes in many communities, and driving tours. You’ll find out as you explore this site that there are frequent links out to websites of other organizations where you can find out more about their programs and activities.

There will be continual updates and additions to the trails of this site. Trails and conditions are always changing. Be advised that on your visit, you may encounter some unforeseen changes in routes and conditions – but that’s part of the dynamic experience in the out of doors.
