From Brockville and Prescott, to Kingston, Sydenham, Sharbot Lake and Westport, to Smith Falls, Merrickville and Kempville – the Frontenac Arch Biosphere is laced with trails for every hiker’s ability. Challenge yourself on the routes in Frontenac Provincial Park, or tour on foot across the land on the Cataraqui and Rideau Trails. Spend a casual afternoon on walking routes through these many historic communities, and learn about our rich history through the views of local experts.
The Frontenac Arch Biosphere is guided in the development of the trails mapping for this site by the Biosphere Trails Council – this region’s member of the Ontario Trails Council. The Biosphere Trails Council is a network of the many trails organizations and interests from across the region. All of the trails on this site are owned or managed by organizations such as the national and provincial parks, conservation authorities and municipalities. The Frontenac Arch Biosphere does not own or maintain trails itself. You’ll find many links in this site out to those organizations, where you can learn more about their programs, roles and activities.
