Perth to Beveridges Locks

Trailhead: 

You can put your canoe/kayak below Haggart dam on Mill St. in Perth (see Route Head in map).  

Extensions: 

At the end of the route at Beveridges Locks, you can instead go through the Locks if you wish to paddle on the Rideau Canal.  Once your on the Rideau Canal (entering on Lower Rideau Lake), there are numerous routes that you can paddle (click View Map and zoom out to view the other routes available).

This leisure paddle travels through the Town of Perth, the historic Tay Basin, an extensive marshland, the Tay Canal, and up to the Beveridges Locks (and then back to Perth).  Keep your eyes open for the rare black tern, golden eagles, herons and various other water birds around.
