Wolfe Lake

Wolfe Lake
Trailhead:

There are two access points.  If you wish to paddle the more scenic northern section (with several islands to explore), park and put in your boat at the boat launch right at the end of Concession Road 10.  Otherwise you could put-in your boat at the boat launch on the southern end of Wolfe Lake, just off of Westport Road.

Trip Length / Distance:

Paddling the northern section of Wolfe Lake is roughly about 13 – 14 kilometers long, if launching from Concession Road 10 boat launch.  However, if your launching from the Westport Road boat launch, add on about 5.5 kilometers to the distance by padding on the western shoreline.

Notes and Cautions:

If you paddle east of the boat launch at the end of Concession Road 10 there is a stream linking to Westport Sand Lake.  However, there is a marked water hazard/caution here.  In addition there is a road that runs over the stream preventing you from paddling underneath.  Therefore, it is probably not safe to enter here.

The northern section of Wolfe Lake offers a good day paddle trip.  Also the bottom half of Wolfe lake, though not quite as scenic, offers some good fishing spots.
