Think Local this Christmas Season!

This week, think local when you are shopping for this Christmas season, and celebrate the tremendous variety of culinary and artistic talents found in this great region.

This Christmas season is fast approaching- It's now nearly December! As the temperature continues dropping, bundle up and get cozy with a nice cup of tea at a local tea room, in a knitted blanket from a local artisan.

Interview at Alloy Foundry/Village Metalsmiths

On one of the many sunny afternoons this past week we set out from the FAB office for Merrickville, where we would take a tour of Canada`s oldest operational foundry. When we walked into the Village Metalsmiths shop an assortment of unique metal pieces met our gaze. One of the most prominent features in the shop is the number of distinctive cast aluminum signs.


Friends of the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area AGM

January 20, 2019 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Members of the public who appreciate the importance that the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area is to the health and vitality of the local community, those who regularly visit the CRCA-owned conservation area for recreation and nature appreciation purposes and folks who want to make a positive impact in supporting the work of the Friends of the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area are encouraged to come to the group’s AGM.

The event will take place on Saturday, Jan. 19, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Brockville Public Library, located at 23 Buell St.

The Latornell Professional Development and Mentorship Program presents Seminar N’ Snowshoe

January 26, 2019 - 9:00am to 12:00pm

Come join junior and experienced Environmentalists for a Panel Discussion on how to get a career in the environmental field, what has led others to succeed, and more. Then connect with our panelists and fellow environmentalists further with a hike down the trail by snowshoe! 

This event is FREE to attend. Space is limited, so please register early! 

Hot drinks and snacks will be provided.

CRCA Winter Fun Day in Brockville

January 26, 2019 - 10:00am to 2:00pm

It’s that time of year again – time for you, your family and friends to come out to the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area in Brockville and enjoy lots of outdoor sights and sounds as part of the 17th annual Winter Fun Day.

The event will take place on Saturday, Jan. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features lots of fun activities for every member of the family. Lace up the blades and skate on the ‘Back Pond’ or go cross-country skiing or snowshoeing (free snowshoeing for kids!!) and enjoy the thrill of our ice slide.
