Interview at Alloy Foundry/Village Metalsmiths

On one of the many sunny afternoons this past week we set out from the FAB office for Merrickville, where we would take a tour of Canada`s oldest operational foundry. When we walked into the Village Metalsmiths shop an assortment of unique metal pieces met our gaze. One of the most prominent features in the shop is the number of distinctive cast aluminum signs.

16th-Annual Winter Fun Day at the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area

It’s that time of year again – time you and your family and friends to come out to the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area in Brockville and enjoy lots of outdoor sights and sounds as part of the 16th-annual CRCA Winter Fun Day.

The event will take place on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features lots of fun activities for every member of the family. Lace up the blades and skate on the ‘Back Pond’, or go cross-country skiing or snowshoeing (free snowshoeing for kids!!). The Mush Larose sled dog races are also back by popular demand, with races starting at 11 a.m.

CRCA Owl Hoot & Coyote Howl Hike

The entire family will enjoy an opportunity to get up close and personal with two of the most mysterious winter forest residents as part of the CRCA Owl Hoot & Coyote Howl Hike, which takes place Saturday, Jan. 27, at 6:30 p.m. at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area.
