Frontenac Womens Chorus

Are you a woman who loves to sing and is curious about joining a choir? The Frontenac Women's Chorus is welcoming new members for January. No audition is necessary and an ability to read music, while desirable, is not required if you can learn by ear and sing in tune with our enthusiastic and friendly group. Join us to sing an exciting variety of music on Monday nights - we have a spot for you!

International Women’s Week celebrates the lives, struggles & achievements of all women, supports positive improvements in the lives of all women and challenges the structures that contribute to practice &   maintenance of discrimination, exploitation, oppression & violence against all women.

SEEDY SATURDAY! SPRING is just around the corner! Gardeners and seed savers are invited to join Transition Brockville and the Brockville Public Library’s FREE SEED EXCHANGE at the Brockville Memorial Centre on Saturday, March 11 from 10 am to 1 pm. There will be a seed starting display, FREE planting activity for kids, local gardening clubs and market vendors, as well as guest speakers and demos.

Brockville Seedy Saturday

March 11, 2017 - 10:00am to 1:00pm

Seed savers and garden lovers are invited to swap and share seeds, and meet and share experiences with local gardeners. Our Seedy Saturday will also feature free planting activities for kids, as well as a seed sprouting demonstration. This year Seedy Saturday is expanding to include special guest speakers on improving your soil (Dave Alguire, 10:30) and starting your own seeds indoors (Jeremy Dutton, 11:00), as well as displays by local food and garden vendors.

Everyone is welcome to attend and pick up free seeds.

CRCA Maple Madness - First Nations Display

March 11, 2017 - 10:00am to 3:00pm

For centuries, the people living in this part of the continent have taken advantage of the sweet bounty offered by the mighty stands of sugar maple trees that are in abundance. Residents of Kingston and surrounding area have a unique opportunity to learn how First Nations communities harvested and used sweet water to make maple syrup and maple sugar.

Meet the Author – Frances Itani

Presented by ‘Brockville Loves Books’. Frances Itani, writer of novels, short stories, poetry, essays, reviews and children’s books, has published 16 books, including her recent novel ‘Tell’, a bestseller, shortlisted for the 2014 Giller Prize in Canada.
