Frontenac Womens Chorus

Are you a woman who loves to sing and is curious about joining a choir? The Frontenac Women's Chorus is welcoming new members for January. No audition is necessary and an ability to read music, while desirable, is not required if you can learn by ear and sing in tune with our enthusiastic and friendly group. Join us to sing an exciting variety of music on Monday nights - we have a spot for you!

Front of Yonge Community in Bloom’s 2017 Gardening Seminar is to be held on Saturday 18th Mar. from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. The cost is $20 including lunch. The four speakers are Mary Ann Van Berlo (Planning and Growing a Shade Garden), Emily Dowling (Healthy Herbs – Grow, Eat, Enjoy), Cate Henderson (Grow your own Seeds) and Alison Whitlock (Wildflower Gardening). Tickets can be reserved by phone or email or can be purchased at the FOY Township Office and Library. There will also be door prizes and silent auction.

The Kingston Fibre Artists’ annual show and sale, Art Threads, showcases new work by the Kingston Fibre Artists, including fibre art created primarily with paper. You are warmly invited to meet the artists at the Opening Reception at the Tett’s Community Gallery on Saturday, March 18 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. KFA members have been creating contemporary textile art and exhibiting together for the past 20 years. Art Threads is made possible by the generous support of the Ballytobin Foundation.

Cataraqui Conservation Foundation Maple Madness Bake Sale

While you are participating in one of the various Maple Madness activities taking place on Saturday, March 18 at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area, why not stop by the Outdoor Centre and pick up some tasty treats.
The Cataraqui Conservation Foundation is holding a fundraising bake sale throughout the day at the centre. It’s a chance to not only indulge your sweet tooth with some homemade goodies, but also support the Foundation’s work in helping to fund various conservation education and land acquisition programs.

CRCA Maple Madness - First Nations Display

For centuries, the people living in this part of the continent have taken advantage of the sweet bounty offered by the mighty stands of sugar maple trees that are in abundance. Residents of Kingston and surrounding area have a unique opportunity to learn how First Nations communities harvested and used sweet water to make maple syrup and maple sugar.

Community of Organists in Concert

The Kingston Centre of the Royal Canadian College of Organists will be hosting an organ concert on Saturday March 18, 3:30 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 130 Clergy Street (corner of Clergy and Princess Streets) in Kingston. This “Community of Organists” event will feature performances by students who are recipients of organ scholarships offered annually by the Kingston Centre, and established organists who play in Kingston area churches. Admission is free, with donations accepted toward the organ scholarship program.
