Stewards of the St. Lawrence 2017 Exhibit

 Through partnerships with local conservation agencies and consultations with the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabe representatives, the ACHM is pleased to present the Stewards of the St. Lawrence 2017 Exhibit in the main hall. This family focused exhibit will highlight the importance of the river to the local and visiting communities and showcase it is a cultural, recreational and economic lifeline. Through this interactive exhibit the ACHM can share information regarding conservation and stewardship and help to leave a legacy for future generations.

Summer Hours at the Museum of Health Care

The Museum of Health Care brings Canada's health care story to life, as it acquires, conserves, researches, displays, and interprets artefacts that help tell the story of health and health care in Canada.

The Museum of Health Care offers 12 onsite and offsite exhibits, 8 online exhibitions and 28 education programs to a diverse range of ages.

Million Dollar Quartet

Kingston Field Naturalists 19th BioBlitz

This will be the Kingston Field Naturalists 19th  BioBlitz in the Kingston area! We would like to record over 700 species in 24 hours and hope that everyone, including our volunteers, will find it a fun and educational event. This year our emphasis will be on Canada 150 - celebrating our natural heritage.  To celebrate this National event we’ve partnered up with Thousand Islands National Park to undertake one of many BioBlitzes’ that will be happening in National Parks across the country.

National Aboriginal Day at Thousand Islands National Park

Celebrate National Aboriginal Day at Thousand Islands National Park's visitor centre. Discover more about Canada's Aboriginal cultures on the dazzling shores of the St. Lawrence River in the Thousand Islands, a traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee people. Learn about what the Thousand Islands means from a First Nations perspective in Voices of Akwesasne, a series of video vignettes playing at the visitor centre and try your hand at Canada’s national summer sport, lacrosse. The Mohawk Thanksgiving Address has been commemorated in a rock carving at Mallorytown Landing’s scenic lookout.

Learn to Build Adirondak Chairs

Build your own iconic summer chair by hand at our most popular workshop! You will learn how to shape the pieces using hand planes and spoke shaves. You’ll paint your chair and take it home to enjoy your most relaxing summer yet!

Pieces will be roughly shaped ahead of time, but you will do all the required assembly and final polishing yourself!

This is an all ages workshop (14 yrs and under must be accompanied by an adult).

The Thousand Islands Land Trust’s (TILT) 1st Annual Mutt Strut at Zenda Farms Preserve

Join TILT as they present the 1st Annual 'Mutt Strut' at Zenda Farms Preserve. Participants are invited to strut your mutt for this non-competitive fun 1 mile run or walk along the beautiful MacFarlane Trail. Well-behaved, vaccinated dogs on leash are welcome to participate. Please ensure your dog is in proper physical condition to participate and has proof of rabies vaccination, tag or license available. Pet owners are responsible for pet waste.
