Stewards of the St. Lawrence 2017 Exhibit

 Through partnerships with local conservation agencies and consultations with the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabe representatives, the ACHM is pleased to present the Stewards of the St. Lawrence 2017 Exhibit in the main hall. This family focused exhibit will highlight the importance of the river to the local and visiting communities and showcase it is a cultural, recreational and economic lifeline. Through this interactive exhibit the ACHM can share information regarding conservation and stewardship and help to leave a legacy for future generations.

Summer Hours at the Museum of Health Care

The Museum of Health Care brings Canada's health care story to life, as it acquires, conserves, researches, displays, and interprets artefacts that help tell the story of health and health care in Canada.

The Museum of Health Care offers 12 onsite and offsite exhibits, 8 online exhibitions and 28 education programs to a diverse range of ages.

Kingston Printmakers

Storefront Fringe Festival

The Storefront Fringe Festival takes place in Kingston from June 23rd until July 1st 2017.

It’s put on by Theatre Kingston and features 17 companies taking over 3 empty storefronts with 102 theatre performances over 8 days!

An incredible event featuring the likes of kids shows, magicians and more. Homeschooled The Musical, Turtleneck, Oasis Love – so much to see and check out.

Chef Cooking Demos at Kingston Public Market

Starting Saturday June 24th and running every Saturday in July and August (except Canada Day) , there will be free chef cooking demos at the Kingston Public Market. The demos will happen in the courtyard of Springer Market Square from 11 am until noon. Please see below for a list of this year’s fantastic local chefs.

Ontario Family Fishing Week

 (12:01 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday). Fish license-free! Take a friend fishing! Ontario Family Fishing Weekend (OFFW) events make it easy to try fishing in Ontario waters for the first time (or the first time in a long time). The government of Ontario designates several days during which Canadian residents can fish license-free in any water body where fishing is allowed. During all other periods, most Canadian residents between the ages of 18 and 64 years must purchase an OUTDOORS card and a fishing license to legally fish in Ontario.

The Perth Antiques Show

New Location! The popular Perth Antiques Show has moved to the Civitan Club of Perth located at 6787 Lanark County Road 43, just on the west entrance to town. You can’t miss it right on the highway! You will see dealers set up, under tents on the spacious front lawns and inside the air-conditioned Hall.

This annual show will be held on Saturday, July 1 and Sunday, July 2 as Canada celebrates its 150th. Come to the show and buy a piece of history!

Straw-BEAR-y Festival

Straw-BEAR-y Festival brings teddy bear fun & strawberries together, on July 1st @ Hardy Park, Brockville. (Water St and Home St) with various activities running from 10 am to 10 pm; Huge Vendor Village and Silent Auction. The Centennial Road Church is sponsoring free games and prizes, a 150th  photobooth and a bouncy house, all set up in the north end of the park, by donations to the charity of the year.

12:00  (approx.)  Singing of O Canada followed by brief speeches from the Mayor, MPP, MP, Commanding Officer + presentation of 4 plaques recognizing 4 citizens of Brockville.

Exhibition Opening

On July 1, the Museum of Health Care at Kingston will launch three free exhibits: "The Century: Medical Innovations of the 1800s," "Growing Pains: the 1867 Crisis at Kingston General Hospital" and "Quack: the Exhibit That Cures All!" There is free admission, tours, family-friendly activities, and refreshments.
