Stewards of the St. Lawrence 2017 Exhibit

April 29, 2017 to October 31, 2017

 Through partnerships with local conservation agencies and consultations with the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabe representatives, the ACHM is pleased to present the Stewards of the St. Lawrence 2017 Exhibit in the main hall. This family focused exhibit will highlight the importance of the river to the local and visiting communities and showcase it is a cultural, recreational and economic lifeline. Through this interactive exhibit the ACHM can share information regarding conservation and stewardship and help to leave a legacy for future generations.

Summer Hours at the Museum of Health Care

The Museum of Health Care brings Canada's health care story to life, as it acquires, conserves, researches, displays, and interprets artefacts that help tell the story of health and health care in Canada.

The Museum of Health Care offers 12 onsite and offsite exhibits, 8 online exhibitions and 28 education programs to a diverse range of ages.

Million Dollar Quartet

On December 4, 1956, history was made when Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley gathered for an impromptu jam session at Sun Records, the birthplace of Rock & Roll. Step inside the recording studio for this seminal moment in music history and hear the rock hits that you know and love.

Chef Cooking Demos at Kingston Public Market

Starting Saturday June 24th and running every Saturday in July and August (except Canada Day) , there will be free chef cooking demos at the Kingston Public Market. Ontario Family Fishing Week

July 1, 2017 to July 9, 2017

 (12:01 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday). Fish license-free! Take a friend fishing! Ontario Family Fishing Weekend (OFFW) events make it easy to try fishing in Ontario waters for the first time (or the first time in a long time). The government of Ontario designates several days during which Canadian residents can fish license-free in any water body where fishing is allowed. During all other periods, most Canadian residents between the ages of 18 and 64 years must purchase an OUTDOORS card and a fishing license to legally fish in Ontario.

Eco Adventure Camp, Queen's University Biological Station

The Queen's University Biological Station (QUBS) is proud to be offering outreach programming for the Kingston and surrounding area community. Our camp is committed to providing growing kids with a unique opportunity to escape the city and explore the wonders of nature. Family Fishing Day at Elbow Lake Environmental Education Centre

July 8, 2017 - 9:00am to 3:00pm

Join us at Elbow Lake for a day of family fishing fun. 

Spend time on the dock, learning from fish biologists about fishing techniques and the importance of catch and release. Don't have a rod... no problem! Use one of ours. Fun for the whole family. Prizes provided by Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) and Canadian National Sportfishing Foundation.

Since it is Ontario Summer Family Fishing Week, fishing licences are not needed this week. At ELEEC, we only allow catch and release fishing using barbless hooks and no live bait. 

Front of Yonge Hidden Gardens Tour

July 8, 2017 - 9:00am

The Yonge in Bloom Hidden Garden Tour will be held Saturday, July 8th, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (rain or shine). In addition to the public gardens at the Front of Yonge Community Centre and the Mallorytown Coach House this year’s Tour includes 6 private gardens in the Mallorytown area. A light lunch is also provided by the Yonge in Bloom volunteers at the Community Centre.

Tickets are $15.00 in advance and $18.00 at the door on tour day and may be purchased at Purcell’s Fresh Mart in Mallorytown or at the Brockville Tourism Centre in Brockville, Ontario.
