What's Up, Cupcake? March is cupcake month at the Gananoque & District Humane Society and we're asking for community-wide help by baking and sharing cupcakes to raise funds through donations for delicious cupcakes. It's fun, easy, and no registration required.
Just bake up your fave recipe and find people eager to eat them! They're everywhere - at your work, classes, clubs, meetings, dinner parties, school, after your exercise class! Local businesses and restaurants are joining in, too.

CRCA Maple Madness Sugar Bush Pioneer Chores

March 24, 2018 - 10:00am to 3:00pm

In the time before chainsaws, trees still had to be felled occasionally in the sugar bush, and it was done the old-fashioned way, using the sweat of one’s brow and the big heavy hand saws of the time.
As part of our ongoing Maple Madness event, the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority is presenting a demonstration of ‘Old Tyme Sugar Bush Chores’ on Saturday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area.
You can try your hand at some ‘old school’ sugar bush chores such as log sawing, emptying sap buckets and tapping trees.
