CRCA Winter Birds 101

Date:
Sunday, January 13, 2019 - 1:00pm to 2:30pm

Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area, 1641 Perth Road, Glenburnie ON K0H 1S0

If you’ve ever wanted to learn about the various birds that inhabit the Cataraqui Region during the cold months of winter, the CRCA is presenting a special Winter Birds 101 program for anyone interested in our avian friends.

Led by expert Carolyn Bonta, the event takes place on Sunday, Jan. 13, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., at the Outdoor Centre at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area. Participants will learn to identify common winter birds, distinguish between similar species, see preserved specimens for hands-on learning, find out about bird-related citizen science programs and much more.

This event is suitable for all ages. Pre-registration is required in advance at www.crca.ca/online-services. The cost is $4 per person, which includes the normal gate fee.

The Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area is located on Division Street just two kilometres north of Highway 401. Entry fees are: $5 per person for adults and children over 12, and $3.50 per person for children 12 and under, to a maximum fee of $15 per vehicle. Annual passes are available for $85 per year and provide unlimited access to both Little Cataraqui Creek C.A. and the Gould Lake Conservation Area.
