The Puppy Prowl Walk for Dogs with the Gan & District Humane Society

Love dogs? Please join us, the Gananoque & District Humane Society, on our Puppy Prowl, Saturday, Oct. 2 to help us re-home abandoned dogs. In Township Leeds & 1000 Islands if a lost dog is not claimed it becomes our property so we do our best! We place them in foster homes where they are socialized & brought back to health till they find their furever home. Often these are failed hunting dogs, let go, and they need lots of costly veterinarian care.

The Puppy Prowl is a way to help. Pick up a pledge sheet at PetValu in Gan, or at the Tipsy Goat or the TLTI municipal office in Lansdowne. Then get sponsors to pledge funds for you on your walk. Even very small pledges count as they all add up! You can print your own pledge sheet from our website under the heading Puppy Prowl.

Come to Town Hall Park, Gananoque on Oct 2 where you can register for the walk starting at 9:30 am. And please bring your dogs, the more the merrier! The short walk is up then down King St., and it's all over by noon. This year we have live music, vendors, treats, and prizes galore! It's fun for kids and a great family outing. And we really need  and appreciate your help! Thank you for helping our sweet furry friends who can't speak for themselves.

You can also donate to the Puppy Prowl by sending an e-transfer to, stating your info in the message box, or press the Canada Helps button on the GDHS Facebook page or on our website Thank you for caring!
