Explore the forested countryside between Westport and the north side of Frontenac Provincial Park on this rural road ramble.
From Westport, ride west from the village on Bedford St. and in about 200 metres bare left onto Salem Rd./ County Rd. 12. through farmland. As you cross into Frontenac County, County Rd. 12 becomes County Rd 8, the Westport Road. The terrain changes from rolling farmland to more rugged forested land with more hills, and skirts the edge of Wolfe Lake.
About a kilometre past the west end of Wolfe Lake, turn south onto Canoe Lake Rd., through forests and for a time along the edge of Canoe Lake. In about 7 km turn left/east onto Devil Lake Rd., and along the gravel surfaced road through woodlands and country homes, with birdsong and scurrying wildlife.
The Devil Lake Rd. comes back into farmland, and you will re-join Salem Rd., and turn right and back into Westport.
