Trail Information

Click Map PDF at the bottom of the page for a printable trail description

A short loop on paved country roads through farmland.

Start from the parking at the Lansdowne Community Centre and library building at 1 Jessie Street. Ride south on Garden St, and turn west on King Street, past the Thousand Islands Elementary School, and coast down the hill out of the village where King St. becomes the Eden Grove Rd., County Rd. 34. At Kyes Rd. turn south, and then west on Haig Rd. at the slightly offset Steacy – Haig Roads intersection.

Turn left/south from Haig Rd. at the Cliffe Rd. Cliffe Rd. crosses the busy double tracks of the Toronto-Montreal main line, and further on crosses County Rd. 2 and then over Hwy. 401. It then ends at the Thousand Islands Parkway. Turn left/east on the cycling path that parallels the Thousand Islands Parkway, and follow it to Reynolds Rd./County Rd. 3, where the Frontenac Arch Biosphere office is at that corner.

Turn north up Reynolds Rd., mindful of the traffic, to cross Hwy. 401, then County Rd. 2 and on back to Lansdowne.

Terrain

There are few hills, on the beginning of Eden Grove Rd., and on County Road 3. All of the roads are paved.

Distance

28km

Bike Suitability

This is a route for road, hybrid or touring bikes

Notes and Cautions

County Rd. 3/Reynolds Rd. from the Thousand Islands Parkway to Lansdowne can be busy, and some curves and hills make for limited visibility. Ride at the road edge, watch traffic coming from behind
