Frontenac Arch Biosphere

The Frontenac Arch Biosphere was designated by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve in November 2002, and is one of over 400 Biosphere Reserves throughout the world.

Eastern Ontario Model Forest

As one of the model forests in Canada’s Model Forest Network, the Eastern Ontario Model Forest works with government, landowners, industry, First Nations and other stakeholders to develop new ways to sustain and manage our forest resources.    

School Boards:

Upper Canada District School Board
The Upper Canada District School Board is a diverse, public educational organization in Eastern Ontario. It consists of dedicated individuals committed to quality education that fosters life-long learning for all, through creative and challenging learning experiences.

Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario With 41 elementary and 10 secondary schools, the board serves the counties of Lanark, Leeds, Grenville, Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Prescott and Russell.  

Limestone District School Board The LDSB serves students in the Townships of Central Frontenac, Addington Highlands, North Frontenac, South Frontenac, Loyalist and Stone Mills, as well as the Town of Greater Napanee and Kingston and the Islands. Outdoor education programs are available at the Gould Lake Outdoor Centre.  

Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board The jurisdiction of the Board covers 16,134 square kilometres from Seeley’s Bay in the east to Trenton in the west to Picton in the south and Whitney near Algonquin Park in the north.

Great Resources for Teachers Ontario EcoSchools is designed to help school boards and schools play their part in responding to one of the great challenges of our time: the increasingly urgent need to live more sustainably.

Green Street endeavours to provide opportunities to actively engage students and teachers in environmental learning and sustainability education.

Toyota Evergreen Learning Grounds helps schools create outdoor classrooms to provide students with a healthy place to play, learn and develop a genuine respect for nature.

Earth Day Canada helps Canadians of all ages achieve local solutions while improving the environment.
