Murphy’s Point Provincial Park offers plenty of natural landscapes, hiking trails, intriguing human legacies for visitors to explore, and excellent paddling opportunities. It is located right on the Rideau Waterway, and the park provides easy access for boaters with a boat launch and docking facilities. Also there is a paddle route that circles around the end of the park.
You can put in at the parking area and boat ramp at the northeast end of Hoggs Bay. From there follow the shore line northeast into Big Rideau Lake and round the peninsula to enter Noble Bay. There is a portage linking Noble Bay to Loon Lake. This is a good place to stop for a snack at the Park Store. Continue through Loon Lake and portage to Hoggs Bay. You can follow the northern shoreline back to the boat ramp or travel southeast around the bay for a longer journey.
From the parking area you can spend the rest of your day hiking one of the many trails.
