Additional Information

Historically, mixed farming pursuits predominated in this rural neighbourhood where the CRCA main facilities are situated. However, flooding from the Little Cataraqui River posed a deterrent, causing the land to be left idle or used for rough pasture. After purchasing several parcels in the 1960's, CRCA built a dam and reservoir, and flooding was controlled. The area has been transformed to a natural landscape lending itself to recreational purposes.
