PA Day Nature Camp - Turtle Power

Exciting NEWS, on May 31st we have a very special PA Day Nature Camp dedicated to the FAB Five of the Biosphere - Snapping, Painted, Musk, Blanding's, and Map Turtles! The Frontenac Arch Biosphere is a HOT SPOT for turtles in Ontario, with lakes, ponds, rivers, marshes, and bogs all around us. The Spring is one of the best times to see turtles, as they travel large distances to mate and lay their eggs. If you are lucky, we might find one wandering around Landon Bay!

Did you know that the FAB Five are in trouble? Don't fret, YOU can help make a difference.

Parks Canada and the Stewardship Council of Leeds-Grenville will join our PA Day Nature Camp, as Guest Mentors. If you have questions about turtles like what they eat, or maybe what they smell like - these are the best people to ask! They love reptiles (and amphibians) and want you to love them too!

Join us on May 31st, as we learn the language of turtles, test your identification skills, and build Turtle Boxes to protect turtle clutches at Landon Bay. Camp is not all about work though, so be prepared to get muddy playing games, hike the forests of budding trees, and create art inspired by our turtle friends.

Spots are limited to 20 campers for this PA Day. Don't waste time...register today, to ensure your place in this Great Turtle Adventure!

  • Date: May 31, 2019
  • Location: Landon Bay
  • Cost: $30 per camper
  • Time: 8:30am-4:30pm

Please Note: We have special guests from the TVO Documentary Series "Striking Balance" joining us on this date. This waiver is completely separate from the FAB Nature Camp Waiver that you fill out as part of your online registration form. If you would like to check out some of the first season from Striking Balance, head to this website: https://www.tvo.org/programs/striking-balance.
