Invasive Species

Invasive species are plants and animals that are not native to a specific location. They have traits that allow them to outcompete native species and spread to levels that are damaging to other species, the environment, economy and even human health.

To learn more about the invasive species found in the biosphere visit Ontario's Invading Species Awareness Program, a partnership between the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF), and the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH).
